Curriculum
The PGDM curriculum is the result of constant change and continuous review by the faculty with help from practitioners in industry, alumni and students.
Students have to work on both individual assignments and group assignment during the two-year period.
A trimester system is followed. Each trimester is approximately 10- 12 weeks long and the two-years have a total of six terms. SJCBA follows a dual-specialization policy under which each student specializes in any two streams:
- Marketing & Finance
- Marketing & Human Resources
- Finance & Human Resources
- Finance & Operations
- Operations & Marketing
- Operations & Human Resources
The course comprises two components: the core programme, in the first year and the elective programme in the second year.
The core programme focuses on rigorous grounding in the rudiments of every discipline in management and the development of a common foundation of business knowledge and management theory. The core programme consists of approximately 21 courses.
Following the first year programme, students undertake summer internships with corporate partners for a period of eight to nine weeks. The summer projects are evaluated and graded and is a requirement for completing the course successfully.
The second year has some core courses and mainly elective courses.
The elective courses which are offered in the second year of the programme allow students to choose a bouquet of courses that interest them and develop proficiency in the areas of their choice. The elective courses consist of in-class courses, coupled with study and field assignments.
