Editorial Statement:
Welcome to the Business Review – A Journal of St. Joseph’s College of Business Administration
SJCBA Business Review is the research  journal of SJCBA issued twice in a year with ISSN
0973-9076 - publishing research papers.

The objectives of bringing out this research publication are

  • To encourage original research in the field of management.
  • To create new knowledge
  • To broaden the scope of management concepts through interdisciplinary approaches
  • To research industry best practices.

Business Review publishes research work from faculty, research scholars, students as well as practicing managers and corporate leaders.

Authors and Editors

Business Review  is a peer reviewed journal with focus on management best practices research. Articles submitted for publication will initially be screened by editors and those considered appropriate will be put through a double blind review, a process that may take up to 8 months. Authors may be asked to revise and resubmit a manuscript based on the referee’s comments. The manuscript must be submitted along with a written confirmation from the authors that the article is original work of the author(s) and has not been published elsewhere.

Theme

The June-December 2010 issue of SJCBA’s Business Review will focus on Impact of Global Recession – how companies survived in the last 24 months. The theme spans all aspects of management – Finance, Marketing, and Human Resource Management – since each faced its own set of challenges and had to evolve through new and creative ways. We request manuscripts, not reproduced elsewhere, as well as book reviews to reach us by 15th October 2010 (as detailed in Author Guidelines)

Authors Submissions Guidelines:

General

  • Manuscripts should be limited to 5,000 words, including references.

  • Include a summary of the paper (as an appendix to the paper, not included in the word count) to assist the Review Committee in their assessment.

  • Please ensure accuracy of all facts, including dates and correct spellings of names.

What the Review Committee will look for in manuscripts submitted

  • Is the paper relevant for more than one industry?

  • Is the paper relevant in other countries?

  • Does the paper offer something innovative or provide a new insight?

  • Is the research of sufficient depth to back up the authors’ points?

  • Would a practicing manager find the paper useful?

  • How familiar is the author with the existing literature on this topic?

Endnotes

The Journal will as a general rule not identify references by date and author’s last name in parentheses in the text (unless this will disrupt the flow), with a bibliography at the end of the article. Instead, we request that authors place in the text superscripted numbers that refer to a list of endnotes assembled at the end of the article.  We also request that the following points are kept in mind:

  • Do not spell out the first name of authors in endnotes.

  • Do not italicize book or magazine titles. Enclose book titles in quotation marks.

  • Place within quotes and do not italicize magazine names.
